Para iniciar, EA Sports diseñó tres plantillas del Equipo de la Temporada elegidas por la comunidad del videojuego, cada una de ellas formada exclusivamente por jugadores con valoración Oro, Plata o Bronce.
A lo largo del último mes, la comunidad de FIFA 16 ha ayudado a decidir qué jugadores estarían en cada plantilla. Solo se podían elegir aquellos que hubieran tenido un rendimiento regular durante la temporada, pero no habían sido elegidos para el Equipo de la Semana.
